Beef & Orange Stir Fry

12 February 2010 11 views No Comment

Jen has been working crazy hours lately, and is never quite sure when she will get home – enter the good ol’ wok into our week day repertoire. I have never been much of a stir fryer, but I thought I would give it a shot this week and made a tasty Beef and Mandarin Orange mash up. It worked out great; I prepared everything earlier in the evening, and just waited for Jen to get home. As soon as she walked through the door, the gun went off, and fifteen minutes later BAM! we were sitting down to eat some pretty good grub. The only thing I had to get going early was the rice, but that could rest for a while as long as it stayed covered. The other thing that I did was separate out all of the prepared vegetables into containers according to their cooking time – that made an assembly line of the cooking process. My only shortcoming is that my wok is not seasoned very well; I burned some of the marinade to the bottom causing me to have to scour it a bit during clean up. Now I have a good seasoning project to keep me busy this weekend. If only seasoning a wok as as simple as seasoning cast iron
