Goat Stew

It has been a while since I cooked anything new, and even longer since I posted a recipe. With getting school underway and all the travel, I just have not had much time, and the author of the awesome  plugin I use for organizing my recipes made some upgrades that broke a few things, but he kept at it and now it is better than ever. So, a couple of days ago I cleaned out one of our cabinets and found all kinds of dried grains and beans lurking around. We also had some goat stew meat in the freezer that I wanted to try out. Since I was traveling last week, we did not order any vegetables from the CSA, subsequently we only had a few odds and ends laying around: tomatoes that were getting ready to turn, some wilty celery and parsley, a couple of onions, and some partial boxes of various twisty pastas. What to do? I decided to throw together a sort of “garbage” Goat Stew. It was pretty good – probably the only thing I would do differently is toss in some dumplings instead of the pasta – it did need the starch to thicken it up just right at the end, but the pasta was kind of weird, I have to admit. Weirdness aside – it made for some tasty left overs!
