Tablet Frenzy
Everybody is crazy about apple’s impending new product announcement. Some people are talking about features, others are talking about how “game changing” it will be For the most part however, every one is comparing it to the iPod and iPhone roll out. Eric Jackson of TheStreet.com goes as far as stating: “the company has really had only two major product announcements in the last 10 years: iPod and iPhone. Other announcements have only been feature updates to these products or the iMacs.” I for one however think that the third big game changer was the roll out of the “pro” series computers built around intel processors. Finally we could have both Windows and the Macintosh operating system on one computer. This was the impetus that led me and a lot of other folks to switch back (or simply switch over). How many times did I ever actually boot into Windows? probably no more than twenty. Do I ever now? No. But it sure made the transition easy to consider, and once I switched I realized that I really could get all my work done on this platform, and much more easily and elegantly. Bootcamp was a great marketing campaign by Apple that goes virtually unnoticed today.
