Smith n’ Treter Christmas
JT and I celebrated Christmas at home in Decatur prior to heading up to Traverse City on Christmas Morning. As usual, Jennifer played the “let’s-not-get-each-other-gifts” game so she could totally make me look like a jerk when she got me all kinds of cool stuff. She got me: Spatulas, Groovy silicone mixing bowls, a pepper grinder with a combine salt mill (for Auburn), a candle – she stole mine, A BEAUTIFUL white soup tureen (we have been looking for a good one for ever) and a bag of coal candy.
I got her an umbrella and a new shuffle – so maybe I am not such a jerk.
Oh, and Eliza got catnip.
To wrap it all up we had a great relaxing Christmas Eve in front of a great fire and had Shepherd’s Pie using the left over mashed potatoes/turnips/radishes from Stev and Joy’s dinner party. Jen added some sweet potatoes from Moore Farms and Friends. Jennifer also kicked my butt in Scrabble, beating me by almost 100 points. Being in the Christmas Spirit, she didn’t rub it in. Too much…
